Design & Build Innovation Jam- November 8th-9th!

On Friday and Saturday, November 8-9, student innovators from community colleges and universities across Southern Oregon will come together at CraterWorks Makerspace in Central Point to tackle some of the region’s most pressing challenges. This collaborative event, an “Innovation Jam,” will engage students in forming teams, brainstorming, and designing creative solutions in a fast-paced, interactive environment.

Guided by the principles of Design Thinking and supported by expert mentors including business leaders, innovators, and educators from across the state, participants will work through the process of prototyping their ideas. The event culminates in a public showcase of student pitches, starting around noon, where teams will present their innovative solutions. This is followed by a community networking session, offering attendees the chance to connect with peers and local professionals.

Whether you’re a student from SOU, RCC, KCC, or UCC, you can compete in the Design Build. If you are an educator or a community member interested in innovation, you’re invited to join as an observer or co-creator of community during the open session beginning at noon. Be sure to RSVP to reserve your spot at this exciting event.

Times:
November 8, 5pm-8pm. Students ONLY. Design Thinking Workshop/Build.
November 9, 9am-11:45am. Students ONLY. Coffee/light pastries. Intro to Design Thinking. Conceptual design work/build.
November 9, 12pm. Pitch Contest. OPEN to PUBLIC.
